Today’s sunny skies were accompanied by diminishing winds, and as this is being written, winds are finally calm. The river is like a reflecting pond off our bow. We did not venture out today as we had planned, but decided to wait out the winds yet another day. We had extremely low tides today, where we usually show a minimum of 3-1/2 ft. under our keel, today it was just at one foot at one point. We took advantage of the extra day to do some last minute chores. I completed installation of the replacement wi-fi & cell antennas, and spent some time organizing the lazarette & engine room storage.
Susan, our marina manager joined us for a “Dark & Stormy” to toast our impending departure and visited with us for a while. Tomorrow promises to be a fine travel day, we’ll head out in the morning with Solomon’s our most likely destination. The water is returning after being blown out for four days, so barring any unforseen developments, we’ll finally be southbound in the morning! Woo-hoo!!

Barb & Steve. Good to hear that the winds have finally settled down enough to allow you to ‘throw off the dock lines’. Have a safe and enjoyable trip south. We’re in SC – it’s been a little chilly (temps in the 30’s – wind chill in the 20’s) so don’t get rid of the winter coats, yet!
Hope to see you along the waterway.
