In December of 2009 we were contacted by Bill Jacobs asking for information about our blog and how we created and maintain it. Over the course of the ensuing months, we communicated periodically with Bill, then with the Passagemaker staff earlier this summer to finalize details and submit some photos for the article that would appear in the November/December issue. The article appears in the current November/December 2011 issue, available at newsstands. It describes the blogs of several cruisers, each with a different focus of cruising area, blog style, and cruising life style. It’s an interesting article as are the majority of the Passagemaker content, especially for cruisers! We were flattered to be included in the article, and happy to share our cruising and blogging experience with the cruising community.
Before we began cruising, we eagerly anticipated delivery of the most recent issue of PM. Although we discontinued our subscription when we began cruising full-time, we still enjoy reading copies we get from other cruisers or local newsstands. Passagemaker also sponsors TrawlerFest events at coastwise locations on both coasts. A staple of aspiring cruisers, we attended our first TrawlerFest in 2002. We looked forward to each successive year with great anticipation as we built our cruising plan in large part from what we learned at TrawlerFest. We heartily recommend TrawlerFest to anyone who plans to cruise for the excellent opportunity to take in excellent seminars, see the best in cruising vessels, and moreover to meet other cruisers and share their experience and knowledge.

We have that issue of Passagemaker! I’ll go check out the article. Congrats on making the ‘big time”. I agree with the Trawlerfest recommendation. We have attended them for years here in Florida, and have gained some valuable information on what’s important, what’s not so important, and how it all works when you’re cruising full time. We’ve met other folks “living the dream” and realize that we can be one of them “someday”!
Thanks for sharing your blog on the fun times, and not so fun times (vacu-flush repair). Gives us a sense of it’s not all sunsets and cocktails when you’re full time cruising…….

Thanks for the kind words, it was fun to have been included in the article. BTW, the sunsets and cocktails do overshadow the un-fun stuff! Now, the wind and cold weather we’re sure to experience in a few weeks, that’s just endurance!
cheers!
