Southbound at last!

Tuesday morning greeted us with cool misty rain, visibility wasn’t the greatest, but light winds and the forecast for mild weather, despite the rain enabled us to slip the lines nearly four months after our arrival in Middle River. Susan and Pat, our marina owners were dockside to see us off.  We had a smooth trip south to Annapolis, a four hour run. We’ll stay overnight in Spa Creek and we’ll be off in the morning to Solomon’s MD, where we’ll have a stopover to visit with Jeanne & Bill Wright, part of the Selene family and owners of Chapter III, a 43 ft. Selene like ours, but newer, hull # 7. Maerin is hull #3. Last winter we were about 3 days behind Chapter III most of the winter! It will be fun to catch up on cruising stories from last season.

We don’t have an itinerary much beyond that, so check back and see where the map pins go!

    Hi
Glad to hear that you are under way again. Have you heard that the Ben Sawyer Bridge near Charleston has the ICW closed until after Thanksgiving? That’s probably not too big a problem for a fantastic ship and the crew of Maerin. We wish you smooth sailing and great weather.
