Beautiful Charleston, South Carolina was home again for 3 days! One of our favorite stopping points, Charleston has a charm that’s irresistible.More metropolitan than many of the other coastal ports, Charleston was once one of the most prosperous cities in the South, and the architecture confirms that fact. We met up with Jeff and Karen Siegel on our arrival Saturday, and enjoyed lunch with them. Jeff is the creator of ActiveCaptain an interactive cruising guide, and source of the ActiveCaptain mobile product, a full-featured chartplotter that runs on a Palm Centro smartphone. Jeff and Karen cruise with 2 labs, so we had lots of notes to compare about living with dogs!
We offloaded our bikes to cover a greater area, since this was our third visit, we wanted to cover more ground. We took an hour long tour over the city, down to the Battery, and covered most of the historic section. A stroll throught the market, and down King Street are always enjoyable.
We opted to stay an extra day, we had considerable fog the morning we planned to leave, so we decided to stay on. The following day was still rather dreary, but visibility was fine for the traveling we had planned!
