Manesquan Inlet – Bay Head, NJ

Left Belmar Thurs. about noon after sending Andrea off in her rental car. She’s now back in York visiting grandparents and friends. We headed south, and chose Manasquan to duck in for the night. We’re anchored in Metedeconk River, close to Point Pleasant and Bay Head. We dropped the hook for the first time in over a 2196 2202month as we transition back to our preferred style of cruising on the hook. The dogs were happy to be on the dinghy and really love the trips to the beach and exploring in the dink. Our weather today is overcast, we haven’t left yet as of 10:30 so we’ll spend today exploring in the dink, perhaps see if we can find a place to land in Bay Head and explore there a bit. It is supposed to be one of the nicest areas on the Jersey Coast, so we don’t want to pass it by. There are scores of monstrous homes lining the shores everywhere we look here, it boggles the mind to think that these homes are all seasonal places!! Many are visibly closed up for the season, with hurricane shutters in place and a general look of desertion!

Fall is upon us!
