Atlantic City, NJ

Wednesday 8/13 at sea, from Cape May to Absecon Inlet- Atlantic City. The morning at sea began with porpoises playing under the bow as we made the turn north out Cape May Inlet. One of the high points of being at sea! They swam just under and ahead of the bow, and after a few minutes, dove under the boat & headed off for other parts. The pictures are not real clear, and they just don’t convey the experience, but it is a lot of fun to spot them! These are thumbnails, click on them to see them full-size.

Our cruise was uneventful, we had three foot swells with about a 6 second period, as relaxing as any day on the Bay! We arrived at Atlantic City about 3 in the afternoon, anchored off the main channel in view of Harrah’s. Took a short ride in the dink, got some beach time in, the dogs had a great time romping in the sand.

Molly is taking well to cruising, she seems to be picking up on our efforts to associate cruising with relaxing.

View from the deck at Atlantic City. The black building is a giant billboard at night, an amazing illusion created by light tubes that encircle the building at each floor. Your eye fills in the black void between floors and the effect is that the entire building surface is like a giant TV screen. Must be good money in gambling!!

We left Atlantic City early Thurs. AM & headed for Shark River Inlet, Belmar NJ.
