We arrived in Canada on July 4th, we have our holidays transposed, as we missed the Canada Day celebration in Canada, and our departure from the states was on Independence Day. We missed the fireworks on both sides of the border! Not total disappointment since we didn’t miss the bazillion boats in the Thousand Islands that were the result of the big holiday on both sides of the border. The boat traffic straddled the line, so this weekend was a zoo! Still Lots of fun! We met up with our Canadian friends Bill & Eleanor in Kingston, Ontario and have had the pleasure of having them on board for a few days, so the blog is on behind a bit as we cruise the Thousand Islands.
We’re currently in Brockville, ONT, a delightful town at the eastern end of the Thousand Island area. Beautiful, beautiful area, great cruising! More photos in the gallery, tomorrow on to Cornwall, the Iroquois locks, 1st of our ship locks on the St. Lawrence.
